The SJRA says Lake Conroe is letting out more water than they did in Harvey, and if you flooded in Harvey, you're prolly going to flood now. My buddy that was going to Cabo waited at the airport from 6am to around 2pm finally cancelled their trip and came by to get their pup. He drove my Lincoln to his house so all I gotta worry about is the Vette. I'm putting stuff like my suits/boots/computers/jewelry/tools/speakers/files etc up high, what I can, and see when it's going to hit us and drive over to another buddies in Spanish Cove and see what happens. My buddies on the Lake are already flooding their lower floors. I'm hoping we get a pass but it doesn't look like it.

Did you not see the post I made earlier about the release from Lake Livingston? Y'all are getting a double whammy on the flooding down there. From Cleveland on up to Dallas and beyond has had torrential rains for the last few weeks. Lake Livingston is full to the brim and they are sending it down stream.
I do hope you don't flood and it's good you got your car out of harms way & your items moved to higher ground.
Kingwood people --- this is going to be a problem for you. You don't live on the Trinity River, but EmmyLou's sister coming in from Louisiana will for sure. They are getting heavier rains than we just got and it's been going on since last week.
As for KW --- this will effect you because it's coming down through Cleveland and the tributaries that feed into Lake Conroe.

I did, was actually about to edit "add that to Lake Livingston releasing record amounts as well" but I gotta call. Don't look good. I'm a lil higher at 50 ft, and Harvy just sat here and dumper rain for days, but I ain't chancing it. Tzhere is alot of water coming.

I hope ya'll dodge it. Harvey was it for us. We did not flood but started planning the exit. I was just done with it. We have some crazy storms up here too, with tornadoes and hail, but it drains very quickly. And over 400 ft in elevation.

Remember Rita, everybody went north, and it went north too and flooded everybody.

The forecast is for more rain tonight, but I only see a little storm building out by Abilene. Of course, last night, when I went to bed at 10, everything around us was clear and there was rains up around Waco & Dallas, heading due east. It came through here at 2 am (according to DH) and it came in with a huge thunder boom. 5" total since then.
NO MORE RAIN, NO MORE RAIN.....send it to Paine's house!!!!

We have some crazy storms up here too, with tornadoes and hail, but it drains very quickly. And over 400 ft in elevation. We escaped KW 1 month before Harvey. Every house across the street from us in Forest Cove got at least 3 feet of water in their homes & they had never flooded before. Our portion of FC was built in the early 60s and it survived the 94 flood with no flooding (according to our nextdoor neighbor who built his house when the subdivision opened. He was an air traffic controller and most people that lived there were also.
As KW grew, the neighbors experienced more close calls, but only the street below us got flooded in 94 and there were about 8 homes still there that kept rebuilding at FEMA's expense (aka taxpayers).
Up here, we are at about 230' elevation, but the subdivision developers here are dumber than dirt and some of the neighbors are worried about the drainage. The other end of our street had water encroaching into their yards and across the street. AND the street before & after ours had water up close to their houses. If it had kept rising, they were going to flood.
Word to the wise (y'all) NEVER EVER buy a home built by First America or Kendall. Probably the same to be said by any big subdivision developer now a days - they don't give a shit. Get a home that is custom built and you can monitor the process and insist on perfection!
