Can't be adding to the drainage issues by doing dishes. I am environmentally conscious like that.

12:45 and it's raining again. I don't think this one will last too long, but there's thunder and lightening. Just realized my daughter took the dog for a walk!! My son is going to pick her up!!
It took so long to recover from Harvey. It makes me sad to think it how many businesses will be affected.

I keep praying the rain holds out. If we get through the rest of today with little to no rain and none tomorrow I really don't think the release of Conroe will be as bad as they are predicting for us. I am holding out hope on this.

I went back with the Lincoln and got more stuff and headed to my cousins in Pearland. Got a lot of stuff out, had to leave furniture and TV’s and such, it what it is. Hope to get a break. My lake buddies say it’s coming up quick over there.

Fast food places are open, so I am making the executive decision that we are having some form of that for dinner. I hear they have lots of chicken restaurants there in the Kingwood area.

The SJRA report for 4pm today says:
San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) has reduced the release from Lake Conroe to 31,934 cubic feet per second (cfs). Lake level is currently 203.52 feet.
BUT -- we had some torrential rains this morning up here and then on the way into Conroe for the MD appt. we went through some flooded streets and heavy rains. Then, coming out of the doctor's office, the rains were strong showers. Hopefully the clouds rained themselves out before they got to KW.
Hoping Cador didn't flood.
Fallon - that backed up sewer report was GROSS!!!!! Almost as bad as the Waffle Stomp story!!!

This is at 8:00 tonight - this is where today's storms started last night. It's moving in a S-SE movement and it's intensified since I started watching it 2 hours ago.

The bridge going into Atascocita closed at 8 pm tonight. That has me worried. I hope it is out of an abundance of caution.
Glad you are getting to higher ground @cador!

I hope so. Being an island for a couple of days is a very good outcome.

The bridge going into Atascocita closed at 8 pm tonight. That has me worried. I hope it is out of an abundance of caution. Glad you are getting to higher ground @cador! It turns out the atascocita fire department that posted the bridge to be closed, later said that it would not be closed. So I drove over it myself around 9:15 or so and everything was fine. The water is really high, though.

OK now I feel much better! Closing that bridge was freaking me out. Why on earth would they have put something like that out? They knew it would cause panic.
